6) By Working Together in Relationship We Synergistically Assist Each Other in Becoming More Aware & Conscious
Feedback in Relationship is a Gift: Applying the "Just" Blank Cards Adaptation of the Johari Window to Demonstrate How
By working together in relationship, we can assist each other in discovering and celebrating our well-known and lesser-known aspects who are awaiting our "invitation to the party" of life and relationship, awaiting our awareness, acceptance, and love. As individuals, we can have blind spots for which we need another's view to help us see. Feedback in relationship is an invaluable gift to both the receiver and the giver.
The model shown above is our adaptation of a popular model of human interaction and communication called the Johari window. The Johari window was developed by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham. In our adaptation shown here via the diagram, the perspectives of both people in the relationship - labeled as "I" & "You" - are overlaid into one "window" instead of being depicted as two separate windows typically used by Luft and Ingham. (You may also notice that the logo of "Just" Blank Cards is also an adaptation of this model that conveys how awareness and consciousness can be enriched within the context of the "classroom" created within a conscious caring relationship).
This window of awareness/consciousness in relationship depicts how as "I" share experiences and feedback with "You" my awareness or consciousness or what I see/know can expand based on our mutual sharing. The same can occur for "You." Together we can synergistically increase the size of our OPEN or SHARED window while reducing the sizes of our HIDDEN and BLIND windows. Individually and together as we share those wonderful "A-Ha!" moments and experiences we can even dip into the PURE POTENTIAL/DISCOVERY window and bring what was once hidden to both of us (shadow) into the light of awareness for one or both of us in the present moment!
This window model has become a symbol to hold the tenets upon which our "Just" Blank Cards work and play are based...that in relationship, we can enrich communication and consciousness via the power of images and dialogue by accessing both our right and left-brain consciousness as we experience, learn, and grow together.
